Description
On this tour, you will unveil the astronomical clock's mysteries and go up its tower, as well as discover the best-kept secrets of the best-preserved Jewish quarter in all of Europe. You will know in depth its legends and all the historical data that will help you better understand the culture. What are their main beliefs and their celebrations? And why have they been historically persecuted, especially during the Third Reich? You will also learn about their funeral customs, and you will be amazed to see the number of tombstones which are inside their cemetery. Finally, you are going to know the Spanish Synagogue, that is considered the most beautiful Synagogue in Europe.
We will start around 10 in the morning in the old town square. We will explore the buildings that are around it, the Tyn Church and the astronomical clock, and then enter the old town hall and visit the municipal hall, the old council hall the gothic chapel overlooking the sculptures of the 12 apostles. Then we will climb the 42 meters of the clock tower to contemplate the best panoramic views of the city, and from there, we will go to the Jewish quarter to visit the interior of the Spanish synagogue, the Pinkas synagogue, the Klausen synagogue, the cemetery, and the mortuary.
At the end of the old city, we will move towards the Charles Bridge to contemplate its 30 baroque sculptures, and We are going to finish around 12:30 or 13:30 (depending on the date of your visit, regular or winter hours) in the Plaza de San Nicholas de Malastrana.
